Road Resurfacing by Highways

As part of Hampshire County Council’s annual Planned Maintenance programme, carriageway resurfacing will be carried out on Foxcotte Road between Hatherden Road and Foxcotte Lane. In preparation, pre resurfacing work and defective kerb replacement will be carried out beforehand.

The pre resurfacing work is expected to take up to 5 working days as follows:

Phase 1 – The roundabout with Foxcotte Lane using a road closure between the hours of 07:30 – 18:00hrs.

• 19th – 22nd October 2026.

Phase 2 – In the extents of Hatherden Road to property No. 48 Foxcotte Road using multiway traffic signals between the hours of 07:30 – 18:00hrs.

• 23rd October 2026.

The carriageway resurfacing is expected to take up to 9 working days as follows:

Phase 1 – The roundabout with Foxcotte Lane up to property No. 62 Foxcotte Road using a road closure between the hours of 07:30 – 18:00hrs.

• 2nd – 4th November 2026: Carriageway resurfacing.
• 11th – 12th November 2026: Specialist manhole treatment.

Phase 2 – Hatherden Road to property No. 48 Foxcotte Road using a road closure between the hours of 07:30 – 18:00hrs.

• 4th – 6th November 2026: Carriageway resurfacing.
• 9th – 10th November 2026: Specialist manhole treatment.

No works will take place over the weekend, and the road will remain open outside of working hours.

While the schedule allows for potential delays, adverse weather or unforeseen circumstances may still lead to short-notice changes. We will make every effort to provide timely updates, although communicating these to the public at short notice can be challenging.

Advance warning signs will be installed ahead of the works commencing. In addition, local residents and businesses will receive a postcard, which directs them to our webpage for detailed information about the planned works.
